Even though parents are continually warned about the dangers of shaking their infants, non-accidental head trauma is the leading cause of death in infants under the age of 12 months. In this webinar:

  • The physical signs of abusive head trauma will be identified.
  • The general presentation of children with non-accidental trauma will be presented.
  • Primary and secondary injuries resulting from abusive head trauma will be discussed.
  • In addition to the physical signs of abusive head trauma, the approach to a suspect of this type of injury is discussed, along with suggestions for obtaining a confession.
  • Case studies will be presented.
