Emergency personnel are one of our nation’s greatest resources. Building individual resiliency in our emergency personnel is an overwhelmingly important task. It enhances the people who serve our communities, strengthens, and supports the organization. Resiliency building is a program that is clearly a win-win situation. The individuals, the organization and the community all benefit.This training will teach attendees the three (3) R’s of personal resiliency: Resistance (protective factors), Resilience and Recovery while offering effective strategies to keep you well. This training can improve your resiliency, enhance your quality of life, and decrease your stress and anxiety by teaching you to view life's inevitable challenges as opportunities.

 

Learning objectives:

  1. Students will learn the three R’s of Resiliency:

    1. Resistance -The build up of protective factors that make the person stress resistant

    2. Resilience - the ability to manage challenges, rebound after disruptive experiences, and rise above adversity

    3. Recovery – The repair, resolution, restoration, and rebuilding after sustaining damage caused by overwhelming stress

2.    Students will key points to guide and direct themselves towards being resilient to include tactics to enhance and maintain resiliency.

3.    Student will learn the negative effects when resilience is absent and the strengths associated with resiliency.
