This is a 3-day class; therefore, class will begin at 8:00am each day and end at 4:00pm each day (this may vary)

This leadership course for law enforcement officers will give insight on how to build a healthy culture within our departments. We believe creating this culture will increase retention rates, build momentum for executing departmental strategic plans, increase buy-in on change initiatives, and create an atmosphere that will promote unity of command. This course will share strategies on increasing trust and influence within our organizations. We believe that individuals move at the speed of trust. In this course we will study and analyze the top ten traits that successful leaders possess. We will identify law enforcement “momentum makers” and “momentum breakers”. The course will also share essential factors required in effective communication when it comes to properly disseminating departmental information.

At the successful completion of this course, the participant will be able to complete the following: 

  • · Identify the traits that lead to a strong, trusting, and healthy culture within our law enforcement agency.
  • · Recognize momentum makers and momentum breakers within the law enforcement community.
  • · Establish trust within our organization.
  • · Identify the top 10 traits of a successful leader.
  • · Analyze the characteristics of great communicators and how they effectively disseminate information.
  • · Properly identify, address, and increase low moral within our department.
  • · Comprehend the significance of obtaining self-discipline and consistency as a leader.
  • · Establish the importance of and how to generate “Unity of Command” within our law enforcement agency.
  • · Learn how to identify and avoid 6 fatal flaws of law enforcement leadership, which we can control.
  • · Understand the difference between Transformational Leadership vs. Transactional Leadership
  • · Learn how to decrease defensive positions of our direct reports on change initiatives.
  • · Identify some of the top toxic leadership attributes and learn how to simply reverse them.

This two-part webinar will address the essential elements of effective writing, followed by tips and techniques for finding and writing grants. While each is designed to be standalone, taking the essentials of effective writing is a valuable precursor to the grant writing webinar. The two sessions are beneficial for law enforcement officers and associated administrative or support staff. You will improve and expand your skills in writing and researching, with an emphasis on grants.
