Body Language Interpretation: Listening with your Eyes Critical Skills in Assessing Body Language for Police & Investigators is an empirically based training on the essentials of the aspect of non-verbal communication known as body language. Reading body language is an essential part of connecting with others and absolutely critical in building rapport and strong relationships. Participants will learn the biomechanics of body language and gain the knowledge and skills needed to successfully interpret body language in a variety of settings and environments, including interviews and interrogations, contact with witnesses, working with victims, and courtroom presentation. Participation in this training will greatly enhance the ability of the individual to 1. build rapport and create the environments most conducive to positive outcomes in a variety of settings and 2. monitor and adjust their own body language in order to shift dynamics of the interaction in ways that maximize success in obtaining their goals. Goals/Objectives: 1. Learning the primary (physiological, emotional) components of body language.
2. Learning how to interpret body language in a variety of settings to increase and support positive outcomes.
3. Learning how to successfully manage one’s own body language for optimal results.
