Course Description
Every domestic violence homicide investigation begins long before the victim dies. It begins with a patrol officer responding to what appears to be a routine domestic violence call.
The evidence overlooked. The photographs never taken. The questions never asked. The warning signs dismissed. The suspect allowed to leave. The phone never seized. The strangulation minimized. Those decisions often determine whether a future homicide becomes a successful prosecution—or an unsolved tragedy.
Domestic violence incidents remain among the most dangerous and legally complex calls in law enforcement. This course closes the gap between patrol response and homicide investigation by teaching the complete investigative continuum—from first response through conviction.
