Please be aware that this class is a 16-hour training. Therefore, the training will be 8am-5pm local time each day.
PATC will provide coffee and in the mornings and snacks and refreshments in the afternoons.
This course will cover the legal and practical issues for conducting internal investigations over the following topics:
- Composition of the I.A./OPS Unit – selection, organization, agency role
- Navigating concurrent criminal and administrative investigations
- Use of Body-Worn Cameras & other video evidence in investigations
- Use of Force Incidents– Role of Supervisor vs. Investigator
- Workplace Discrimination Investigations
- Social Media Misconduct – Guidance, Policy & Consequences
- Early Intervention Systems
- Case Scenarios
