Identification and Seizure of Digital Evidence for Investigators

Course Duration and Outline: The course lasts for four days, with eight hours each day. The course covers four main modules; Understanding Digital Evidence and Legal Considerations; Identification and Recognition of Digital Evidence; Legal Seizure and Collection of Digital Evidence and Analysis and Presentation of Digital Evidence.

Each module consists of morning and afternoon sessions, with a lunch break in between and 15 minuet breaks in the morning session and afternoon sessions. Each module also includes a practical exercise and a case study.
Learning Objectives: To provide investigators with comprehensive knowledge and skills for identifying, seizing, and handling digital evidence effectively in criminal investigations and legal proceedings.

There are five professional learning objectives for the Identification and Seizure of Digital Evidence for Investigators (ISDEI) course:
• Understand the importance of digital forensics in modern criminal investigations.
• Identify, seize, and handle digital evidence effectively in criminal investigations and legal proceedings.
• Understand the legal considerations and best practices for handling digital evidence.
• Learn techniques for recognizing, collecting, and analyzing digital evidence.
• Gain confidence in presenting digital evidence in courtrooms.

Prerequisites:
Basic understanding of computer systems and technology.
Familiarity with criminal investigation procedures.
No prior experience in digital forensics required
