Basic Criminal Investigation Protocols for Street Patrol Officers and New Investigators “ Enhancing the Capabilities of Professional Police Officers"

Description

Statement of Fact: As with anything new, a street officer or new detective being tasked with a criminal investigation can find it to be a bit intimidating. The responsibilities associated with an investigation also can be quite overwhelming. What to do, what not to do, who to contact, and when should it be done can be very stressful. “Baptism by fire” can very well be the norm. Hence, training in the various components of what constitutes an investigation is of the utmost importance. Why? Failure is simply not an option for the professional police officer.
