Dark Web Investigations

Description

This two-day course provides investigators with the essential knowledge and practical skills to safely navigate and investigate criminal activity on the dark web. Participants will learn how offenders use anonymizing tools, cryptocurrencies, and hidden marketplaces to conduct illicit transactions and conceal their identities.

Through live demonstrations and hands-on exercises, attendees will explore dark web platforms, learn to identify forums and communication channels, and practice techniques for collecting intelligence and evidence. The course emphasizes operational security, legal considerations, and the use of open-source intelligence (OSINT) and specialized software tools to support investigations.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how the dark web functions and how criminals exploit it

  • Safely access and monitor dark web marketplaces, forums, and communication platforms

  • Identify and track threat actors through usernames, cryptocurrency addresses, and other digital footprints

  • Apply best practices for intelligence gathering, evidence collection, and documentation

  • Integrate dark web findings into larger investigative strategies

This program is designed for law enforcement officers, analysts, and investigators who need the skills to uncover, track, and disrupt criminal activity hidden in the dark web.
