Drone Operations for Public Agencies
ALL WEBINARS ARE PRESENTED ON EASTERN STANDAR TIME
Description
Drones/sUASs (Small Unmanned Aerial Systems) are an amazing tool, and they are increasingly being utilized to great effect by a variety of public agencies across the country. Current FAA rules authorize public agencies and pilots to “self-certify” under the statutory requirements for public aircraft. However, UAS operations must still be flown in accordance with all FAA rules pertaining to UASs, and under a Certificate of Authorization (COA) for flight. These public agency requirements are not taught to commercially/privately certified 14CFR Part 107 UAS pilots. A failure to abide by these FAA rules, and all federal and state laws could place your agency in legal jeopardy! (2hrs)
This two-hour webinar will discuss the following topics:
- Part 107 versus Certificate of Authorization: Differences and Pro’s/Con’s.
- FAA Rules and Considerations Pre-Flight, Flight, and Post-Flight
- UAS Registration and Markings
- Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Requirements for UASs
- Flight Crew Considerations
