Death & Injury Investigations for Patrol Officers and New Investigators

Description

This 4-hour presentation is designed for the Patrol Officer or New Investigator responding to crimes of violence. 

The attendee will gain a view of common injuries of violence, suicide, and crime scene considerations.

Actual case reviews will give insight into the motives and tactics of various perpetrators.

Aspects of trauma/injuries will be highlighted for the responding investigator/officer’s understanding the potential evidence from the crime scene. The attendee will gain introductory insight on:

The most common calls of service with injury, include: firearm wounds, blunt force trauma, sharp force injury, as well as other injuries he/she may observe. Time of death estimations (rigor, algor, & livor mortis) will be discussed.
