Investigating Deviant Sexual Behaviors
Description
Sexual Deviant Behaviors explores paraphilia, a condition in which a person’s sexual arousal and gratification are dependent on fantasizing about and engaging in sexual behaviors that are deemed atypical and extreme. Paraphilia is considered a disorder when it causes distress or threatening someone else. Class participants will explore, discuss openly, explore some case studies on fantasy, voyeuristic, frotteuristic, exhibitionistic disorders, pedophilia, sexual masochism, sexual sadism disorders, fetish and transvestic disorders, and necrophilia.
Law officers are expected to distinguish between their personal feelings and their legal responsibilities in dealing with each type of sexual deviancy.
This course is an understanding of sexual deviant behaviors that will educate law enforcement while investigating, responding, and approaching the listed forms of sexual deviant behaviors.
