Telephone Interviews and Pretext or Confrontation Calls
Description
With investigation we cannot always interview someone in person, which may require us to talk with someone on the telephone. The course will help participants understand the key elements of conducting a successful telephone interview.
This course will also cover an investigative tool called a pretext or confrontation call. Whenever you have someone who has information that you cannot get, you can have someone else call and get the information. You can then record that phone call to use in court. Pretext or confrontation calls are often use in child abuse or rape cases where there is no evidence, no eyewitnesses, and its one person’s word against the other. In these cases, we can have the victim call the offender and talk to them about the crime.
