Investigative Statement Analysis (ISA) is a technical, cutting-edge investigative tool that equips investigators to examine the content of victim, witness, or suspect verbal or written statements to reveal deception and overcome it. Trained analysts examine the psychology behind word choice, statement structure, quantities of information and other content-related features that will reveal whether the author is thinking from a truthful thought process or a deceptive one. Armed with the reality behind the story provided by the analysis, the investigator strategizes their interview, attacks the deceptive information, and traps the subject using their own words to compel a confession.

The LSAT 12- hour basic training webinar is presented in 4, three-hour blocks over two days. We provide the knowledge and skills necessary to acquire, analyze and determine the veracity of statements. It is directed toward criminal, special, and private investigators of all skill levels who routinely interview witnesses, victims, and suspects. Instructor, retired Detective Lt. Bob Shaffer has instructed statement analysis for 24 years, coaching students through real-life practical exercises to provide them with experience and confidence in the analysis process. Students analyze statements from a variety of crimes in order to provide practical application of the technique.
